Oh hey! I’m back, I am going to be the first to admit that my blogging game has been rather poor these past few months and since launching my new self-hosted site, I have been so determined to make it perfect that I have been prioritising the little jobs over actually creating content, which is so wrong but I am excited to get back into it and continue to grow and make this blog everything I’d hope for and more.
For those that follow my social media, you will know that a few weeks ago I spent 5 nights in New York with my Mum. For as long as I can remember I have always wanted to visit the ‘Big Apple’ and the fact is was actually becoming reality meant that I was even more excited than my normal self.
There is nothing I love more than a good old haul, these are some of my favourite types of blog posts and Youtube videos (being a nosey person and all!) especially hauls from America as there are so many brands that we can’t get over here in the UK so I definitely had a very long shopping list. Also, considering my bank account has not been great this past year, I had been continually saving for the past few months so that when I visited New York – I could spend spend spend!
I decided to begin with the sharing some of the products that I purchased from Sephora because let’s face it, this is where I spent the majority of my money. Don’t get me wrong, I did purchase some other bits from other stores, but before travelling to America, this was the store where I was most excited.
Sephora is a store that we are unfortunately not lucky enough to have in the UK and considering I have never been into one, I had big expectations and I was definitely not left disappointed. It was everything I had hoped for and I was amazed at how many different brands and products there were under one roof. Also, they are EVERYWHERE. I easily saw about 6 different stores whilst in New York.
Anastasia Beverley Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
This is a palette that I had my eyes on months and months before I even planned to go to New York. I have heard some amazing reviews of this product and I really wanted to see if it was as good as everyone said it was. Truth be told, it is one of the best palettes I now own! The colours are so pigmented and blend beautifully.
Too Faced Peaches Set
Anyone who knows me well will know that I am a massive fan of Too Faced. It is quite easily one of my favourite high-end makeup brands. I visited their new store in London a few months ago and saw this primer, however, I didn’t purchase it. So when I saw this really cute set at Sephora, I couldn’t resist!
Anastasia Beverley Hills Dipbrow Pomade – Soft Brown
Another ABH product that is highly raved about by most beauty guru’s is the dip brow pomade. This product had me at hello because I am obsessed with how full and dark it makes my brows look.
Tarte Rainforest of the Sea Concealer
With the initial hope to purchase the Shape Tape concealer before realising Sephora didn’t stock it and the nearest Ulta Beauty was miles away, I decided to give this one a try. So far, I love it, however, I definitely want to purchase Shape Tape and compare the two!
Sephora Colour Correction Concealer & Eyeshadow Primer
Last year whilst in Majorca, I purchased a Sephora matte liquid lipstick and I have used it so much that I was desperate to try some of their other products. I picked up these two beauties and I already love them just as much as I thought I would. The colour correction concealer is such a good Urban Decay dupe and the eyeshadow primer is so creamy and is great when blending eyeshadow on top.
Another store that is definitely raved about by a lot of people, and yet another store we do not have in the UK, is Bath and Body Works. I am a HUGE fan of their candle collections and I was so looking forward to actually going into a store and exploring some of their other products.
B&BW Hand Sanitizer and Body Cream
I originally picked up the biggest handful of ‘pocketbacs’ before finding this really cute pump instead. Considering I am a teacher, I thought it was pretty accurate, and it smells lovely! Also, this little body cream is the perfect travelling size and I can’t wait to use it on my holiday.
Overall whilst in New York, I spent too much money but I loved every second and I already cannot wait to go back. It most definitely is the ‘shopper’s paradise’ and I already know that when I go back, I will be taking a lot more spending money than I did this time.
Have you been to New York, what is your favourite shop?
